YOUNG COWGIRLS

Led by NPC founder, Kate Mueth, these creative workshops explore what's on your mind and how to translate it into dance theater through writing, improv, movement and directing.  Join us for a day that is inspiring, freeing and welcoming to all!

Girls Speak the Bard, a Young Cowgirls Workshop

Young Cowgirls participants will dive deep into the language and themes in scenes and sonnets from Shakespeare. Utilizing journaling, conversation, theater games, and idea-sharing, they will explore and create movement and direction for their scene work to end with a final share presentation.

*This workshop requires weekly homework of memorizing lines outside of the rehearsal room.

I have done many workshops with Kate and I just love them!  Each one has been helpful and inspiring.  I have learned to express myself without feeling self-onscious.  Working with Kate has helped make me a better performer - and I have never felt more comfortable on stage. I would recommend these workshops to any kid who loves to act.

"When I came to my first Young Cowgirl workshop, at first I felt sad, but by the end I felt I was home."

"One of the greatest feelings I felt in the workshop was when I could just look at something I've directed and be like this is what I wanted… I created this… I feel accomplishment, and it’s great."

– Sophie
