a 10 week workshop for girls on storytelling through film

Girl Gaze is a 10-week residency workshop occurring in the spring for East Hampton High School girls. In proud partnership with the Hamptons International Film Festival, Girls’ Gaze gathers young women together in conversation, friendship, and communication to offer a coping mechanism and a tool for self-expression via storytelling through film.

The workshop focuses on building self-reliability, public speaking and communication skills while impact fully examining how we share emotions and how to journey on an artistic path. Participants convey their uncensored views through images, music and text into a cinematic story that is then shared in a public screening off school premises with a film professional moderating a Q & A talkback with the young filmmakers. Led by two female teaching artists.

NPC and Hamptons Film brings this program to our local girls to be in conversation while creating their own short films. Community service hours, friendship and active creation are just a few of the gifts of this program.

This workshop is free for all participants
