Andromeda’s Sisters: An Arts and Advocacy Forum in Two Parts will take place over two nights:
On August 14 our theater arts program will present a reading of monologues written by female-identifying playwrights. Actors include: Cathy Curtin (“Homeland,” “Orange Is The New Black,” “Stranger Things”), Laura Gomez (“Orange Is The New Black”), and Florencia Lozano “Narcos,” “One Life To Live”). Playwrights include: Joy Behar, Lynn Balaban, Lucy Boyle, and Dipti Bramhandkar. More actors and playwrights will be announced shortly.
The event on September 3 will focus on advocacy. The evening will highlight the work on the landmark white supremacy case, Sines v. Kessler, with a conversation hosted by Integrity First For America’s Amy Spitalnick, and Lead Counsel, Roberta Kaplan. It will be moderated by journalist Dahlia Lithwick with an introduction by Rick Salomon, Vice President and Executive Committee Member of the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center. During the second part of the evening, Kerry Kennedy will speak about the work of the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights organization. Celebrity actors will read from her powerful book, Speak Truth To Power, a coffee table book recording global social justice fighters.
Funds raised by this annual event directly support the theater work and arts education outreach of The Neo-Political Cowgirls.
